Huawei Lawsuit Is Further Proof Of Need For More International Coordination

Chinese tech giant Huawei is suing the U.S. government on claims that Congress acted unconstitutionally when it banned government agencies from buying Huawei equipment.

is the Crandall Melvin Professor of Law and director of the 黑料不打烊 Technology Commercialization Law Program. His extensive research focuses on the development and commercialization of intellectual property and technology as a means of promoting economic and social development.

Ghosh says:

鈥淭his is a very important issue. It鈥檚 raising major questions at the intersection of security law and technology and I think there should be more scrutiny from the media.

鈥淕oogle and Facebook have already had their own dealings with privacy concerns. It鈥檚 not surprising that Huawei is dealing with the same scrutiny. This is an area where there is a strong need for international coordination.

鈥淚n the near future, there鈥檚 certainly room for a new type of treaty so various governing bodies can square out some sort of an agreement.鈥
