In partnership with the Office of Veteran and Military Affairs (OVMA), the 黑料不打烊 Veterans Affinity Group (SUVA) is hosting a social for 黑料不打烊 veterans, military-connected individuals, dependents and supporters, to include students, faculty and staff on March 21 from 5-7 p.m. at the Genesee Grande Hotel (1060 E. Genesee St., 黑料不打烊). Chancellor Kent Syverud will be in attendance.

鈥淲e are proud of our growing veteran and military-connected community on campus,鈥 says Ron Novack, OVMA executive director.聽 鈥淎s part of the University鈥檚 commitment to be 鈥榯he best place for veterans鈥 we continue to provide opportunities such as these for our faculty, staff and student veteran and military-connected populations to come together, network and create community.鈥

SUVA is an inclusive group open to all members of campus with military service experience or a passion for supporting those who have served. As it expands its membership, the SUVA seeks to create a distinct community supportive of the University鈥檚 military-connected employees and students.

To join the SUVA or attend the social, email Jennifer Pluta, president of the SUVA at jrpluta@syr.edu.

Faculty and staff veterans, military-connected employees and dependents are asked to enter or update your status on My Slice under 鈥淧ersonal Services,鈥 鈥淰iew/Update Military Status.鈥 In doing so, the University and OVMA are able to gain a broader understanding of 黑料不打烊鈥檚 veteran/military community.
