Fire and safety logoAs part of Campus Fire Safety Awareness Month, the South Campus, Off Campus and Commuter Services office is co-sponsoring an educational event with Fire and Life Safety Services (FLSS) this week, all with the safety of students in mind. During the week, students will have the opportunity to learn more about fire safety at a pop-up tent and table located outside of Lyons Hall, at 401 Euclid Ave. Part of the educational effort involves distribution of a brochure developed by Brian Tarolli, an inspector with FLSS.

“Creating opportunities to help students become well-educated and more aware of how they can stay safe in their off-campus apartments is an invaluable investment,” says Joseph Personte, assistant director in the Office of Student Living on South Campus. “Students who make fire safety a priority and a routine practice in their everyday lives significantly decrease the potential for danger. By providing educational handouts, conversation with fire-safety experts and hands-on experiences with the fire simulator, the Office of Student Living and our partners in Fire and Life Safety here on campus hope to provide lifelong learning opportunities for our students to immediately put into practice, but also instill strategies they can take with them after their ϲ experience that will continue to enhance their lives.”
