黑料不打烊 Libraries Sponsors Impact Prize

Blackstone LaunchPad powered by Techstars at 黑料不打烊 Libraries (LaunchPad) is accepting applications now through Nov. 1 for the Impact Prize, a competition for social entrepreneurship. The Impact Prize is open to 黑料不打烊 and State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry students taking entrepreneurship classes at the University and working on ventures that create a social impact.

Campus faculty and staff with expertise in civic engagement or social entrepreneurship will select teams to pitch their venture at a pitch competition event on Nov. 14 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Bird Library.

The Impact Prize of $10,000 will be awarded at this pitch competition, culminating 鈥淭he Republic of Innovation鈥 events being held throughout Global Entrepreneurship Week, Nov. 8 to 15. The prize is supported through generous gifts to 黑料不打烊 Libraries from Gisela M. vonDran, director emerita of the School of Information Science鈥檚 MSLIS program, and Todd B. Rubin 鈥04, minister of evolution and president of The Republic of Tea.

The Impact Prize is a gateway to the iPrize competition and other global competitions, such as the Hult Prize. The competition is being managed by , Hunter Brooks Watson Scholar at the LaunchPad.

The Blackstone LaunchPad powered by Techstars in Bird Library is 黑料不打烊鈥檚 innovation hub, connecting the entire University鈥檚 resource-rich ecosystem with a global network that provides support for aspiring entrepreneurs, inventors and creators.聽The program serves faculty, staff, students, and alumni across disciplines.
