People looking at photos on a wallSubmissions are now being accepted for 黑料不打烊鈥檚 On My Own Time (OMOT) exhibition.

Any full- or part-time faculty or staff member is eligible to submit artwork in the categories of painting, ceramics, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, photography, collage/assemblage, fiber art, glasswork, computer art, metalwork and mixed media.

Each artist may submit up to three works. Items must be an original creation (no copies of published works or craft kits) and must have been completed within the past three years and not been previously submitted to OMOT. Submitted works must be titled, finished works and display ready, with hardware for mounting or display.

The completed OMOT 2020 Artist Registration Form is due by Monday, April 13. The form may be emailed to OMOT@syr.edu or faxed to x1063. Note to applicants who are art instructors: you may not submit work in your primary discipline.

The same registration form may be used for volunteering; volunteers are needed to assist with logging in artwork, assisting in hanging and taking down the exhibition, and helping with artwork pick up.

The exhibition opens April 27 in the Noble Room of Hendricks Chapel and concludes with the closing reception on May 13. The exhibition will be open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A panel of professional artists assembled by CNY Arts will serve as judges for the in-house exhibition. Artwork selected by the panel will be featured in a public exhibition at the Everson Museum in the fall. Visitors to the on-campus show will be able to vote for a 鈥淏est of Show鈥 piece. The winner of this and other categories will be announced at the closing reception

On My Own Time is co-sponsored by CNY Arts and the Everson Museum of Art. It was developed as a community arts program to bring visibility to the creative skills of people employed in local businesses and organizations.
