ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Libraries will be reopening for the Fall 2020 semester for current students, faculty and staff with a valid ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ or SUNY-ESF identification card. Fall hours will take effect Monday, Aug. 24, and run through Tuesday, Nov. 24. Hours are currently planned as follows (but subject to change if circumstances require):

• Bird Library, from the Lower Level to the 5th Floor, will be open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to midnight, Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon to midnight.
• Bird Library, 6th Floor, will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The SCRC Reading Room will not be open to any users this fall.
• Carnegie Library will be open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.
• King+King Architecture Library in Slocum Hall will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

Bird Library Lower Level to the 5th Floor will also be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to those with a valid SU or SUNY-ESF I.D. on Saturday, August 22, and Sunday, August 23.

Everyone who enters the Libraries’ buildings will need to swipe in with their identification card and swipe out when they exit. Everyone who enters must wear a face mask or covering and keep it on when in any open or public space. Drinking and eating will not be permitted in the Libraries, except in private rooms or in Pages Café. Furniture has been rearranged for 6-foot physical distancing requirements and users are asked to not move any furniture. Users are also asked to wipe down their work surface with supplied disinfectant both prior to and after use.

Bird and Carnegie Library will continue to lend laptops, calculators, headphones with mic and external DVD/Blu-Ray drives. These will be sanitized between loans to patrons. Short-term study rooms in Bird and Carnegie will be available to use. Some rooms will be reservable in advance and others will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to physical distancing requirements, all study rooms will only be available for single person use, with no group studying allowed. All rooms will be thoroughly cleaned each night.

Library staff will be available for quick reference and informational questions, including via online chat, text and email. To limit face-to-face interactions and for more in-depth research questions, users are strongly encouraged to use the Libraries’ virtual research services or make an appointment for an online consultation.

Student success service points in Bird Library, including the Center for Learning and Student Success (CLASS), ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Abroad@Bird, Blackstone LaunchPad and Techstars, the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Engagement (SOURCE), Digital Scholarship Space, Office of Multicultural Affairs, Disability Cultural Center and LGBT Resource Center will be open for specified hours, with students strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment. Pages Café will be open limited hours and primarily for takeout.
