J. Christopher Hamilton, assistant professor of television, radio and film in the Newhouse School, was quoted by the Cortland Standard for the article “” Hamilton, who researches race and business monetization, says it can be very difficult for Black and minority business owners when first starting a new venture, especially in predominantly white communities where “social connections can have a large influence on business.” 鈥淚f you鈥檙e not interconnected with those people, you鈥檙e going to have a harder time running a business,鈥� says Hamilton.
