Graduate Dean’s Award Recipients Announced

graphic with headshotsEight graduate students have been selected to receive the Graduate Dean’s Award for Excellence in Research and Creative Work. Award recipients represent a broad array of disciplines and were selected based on students’ outstanding accomplishments in research and creative work, as well as the quality and impact of proposed presentations.

A total of 76 submissions were reviewed within broad disciplinary categories by a panel of faculty members serving on the Graduate Faculty Council.

“In an unusual academic year with many challenges, it is gratifying to reward the achievements of our graduate students,” says Peter Vanable, dean of the Graduate School. “The quality, rigor and creativity with which these awardees approached their submissions is a testament to their talent and hard work and the quality of ϲ’s graduate programs and faculty.”

  • Vedyun Mishra, “Responsible architecture can be for everyone,” School of Architecture, architecture design, energy, futures
  • Keonyoung Park, “Signaling, Verification, and Identification: The Way Corporate Social Advocacy Generates Brand Loyalty on Social Media,” Newhouse School of Public Communications, public relations
  • Zheng Xiong, “New Bioprinting Technology to Print Large-scale Vascularized Organs,” College of Engineering and Computer Science, biomedical engineering
  • Ying Zhang, “Can We Know a Relationship is Abusive Before It’s Too Late?,” Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics, human development and family science

All winning entrants will receive $500 and an award certificate and will present their work at an .
