Each year, the Graduate School recognizes teaching assistants (TAs) who have made distinguished contributions to 黑料不打烊 by demonstrating excellence as primary instructors, laboratory or studio leaders, discussion or recitation section instructors, or lecture course assistants. These teaching assistants are nominated by their departments and evaluated by a selection committee composed of University faculty.
Selection for the award is based on the strength of the nominee鈥檚 teaching portfolio, as well as letters of support from faculty and students. On average, the selection committee recognizes the top 4% of all TAs campuswide.
鈥淭his year, graduate teaching assistants have had to adapt their teaching methods to new modes of instruction or significantly restructured courses. Like our outstanding faculty, these teaching assistants have made significant contributions to undergraduate teaching and learning this year,鈥 said Peter Vanable, dean of the Graduate School.
