Dear Students and Families:

The first day of classes is now less than 40 days away. We are all excited by the prospect of a return to an academic and student experience that resembles our pre-pandemic campus environment. A critical dimension of our return to campus planning is the requirement that EVERY member of our residential community be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Only those who submit an approved religious or medical exemption from the vaccine will be permitted to access campus unvaccinated in the fall. Students with approved religious or medical exemptions will be required to wear a mask on campus and participate in weekly surveillance testing.

Some students have yet to submit this critical information. As a reminder, new and transfer students were expected to submit proof of vaccination by July 1; returning students should submit proof of vaccination no later than Aug. 1. These dates were intentionally selected, to ensure students have received the final dose of the vaccine at least two weeks prior to returning to campus.

PLEASE NOTE: Students who do not submit their vaccination records demonstrating a completed vaccine series 14 days prior to arrival on campus will not be able to select a move-in pass, move into their residence hall and/or access course registration.

COVID vaccination records should be submitted to the  as soon as possible! If you have questions about your vaccination record or compliance with these requirements, please contact the Barnes Center at The Arch at barnescenter@syr.edu.

There is nothing more exciting than welcoming our new and returning students back to campus—even more so this year, in anticipation of a return to everything special and unique about the transitional ���ϲ����� student experience. For that experience to be realized, it’s critical that all our students and families act with urgency to submit proof of vaccination or request a vaccine exemption. Please don’t delay!
