Volunteers Needed for 黑料不打烊 Welcome聽Starting Aug. 24

Some of the earliest memories of聽joining the聽Orange聽family begin the day new students move onto campus.聽During聽黑料不打烊 Welcome聽2021,聽faculty and聽staff are invited to聽join the聽Orientation Leaders,聽聽and the Office of聽First-Year聽and Transfer Programs (FYTP) in聽continuing the聽kick-off聽tradition of greeting and聽moving聽new聽students聽into聽their residence halls.

A variety of volunteer times are available for staff and faculty starting Tuesday, Aug. 24, through Thursday, Aug. 26. Those interested in volunteering are asked to complete the .

鈥淎long with the entire 黑料不打烊 community, we are thrilled to welcome new students to campus with a traditional 黑料不打烊 Welcome experience,鈥� says Carrie Grogan Abbott, director of FYTP. 鈥淭hrough the support of volunteers and cross-campus partners, we can continue the tradition of welcoming our next class of students and enhancing their experience through 黑料不打烊 Welcome.鈥�

Volunteers will also be a part of the , an initiative that provides the Class of 2024 with an opportunity to experience traditional 黑料不打烊 Welcome events. Through this program, students can register to attend events throughout the week of Aug. 23. 鈥淲e are thrilled with the number of rising sophomores who have registered to participate in Sophomore Welcome Back,鈥� says Abbott. 鈥淭he program offers a wonderful opportunity for students to not only participate in signature 黑料不打烊 traditions, but also make new connections.鈥�

As聽the launch of聽the 黑料不打烊聽student聽experience,聽聽is聽the required new student orientation program. To aid students in their pursuit of success, 黑料不打烊 Welcome encompasses academic and social programs in addition to traditions unique to the University.
