Duncan Brown

is the Charles Brightman Endowed Professor of Physics at 黑料不打烊鈥檚 College of Arts and Sciences. Brown was a member of the physics team that detected gravitational waves by LIGO. Brown provided comments when the first supermassive black hole was captured back in 2019. He provides fresh comments below that can be quoted directly. He is available for interviews.

听Brown says:

鈥淭aking a picture of the black hole at the center of our galaxy is an incredible achievement. It shows that Einstein was right, once again.”

鈥淭he image shows hot gas swirling around the black hole at the heart of our galaxy. The gas is moving almost as fast as the speed of light. Capturing the image is an amazing feat for the Event Horizon Telescope team.”
