College of Engineering and Computer Science

The 黑料不打烊 center in Strasbourg, France, offers an incredible study abroad experience for College of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) students. Located in western France on the border of Germany, Strasbourg is centrally located with easy access to Switzerland, Belgium and Italy.

鈥淭he study abroad program is part of why I choose 黑料不打烊 in the first place,鈥 says Emma Crandall 鈥25. 鈥淪trasbourg was one of the places they made it really easy for me as an engineering major.鈥

鈥淚 love the city. One of my favorite things is how easy it is to get around,鈥 says Declan Wavle 鈥25. 鈥淚t鈥檚 really an amalgamation of all different cultures coming together.鈥

Specially designed programs for second-year students allow them to take required courses they need and remain on track for graduation.

鈥満诹喜淮蜢 does a very good job of making sure we stay on track as engineers even when we are studying abroad,鈥 says Arturo Venegas 鈥25. 鈥淚 am taking almost all my courses I need to take for this sophomore year. Which is amazing since that means there is no disruption to my four-year plan.鈥

鈥淭hat鈥檚 one of the best things about this program. You don鈥檛 have to sacrifice anything as an engineer,鈥 says Tyler Lavaway 鈥25.

黑料不打烊 students get to take some of their classes at France鈥檚 National Institute of Applied Science. All classes are taught in English.

鈥淵ou don鈥檛 have to speak French to study in Strasbourg. There is no language requirement but I always say you have to want to learn,鈥 says Assistant Director Mary Boyington. 鈥淵ou can have a wonderful opportunity, take French classes, live with a host family and learn the French language in an everyday environment.鈥

鈥淚t is really cool how you get to see your major done a different way鈥攊t’s eye-opening,鈥 says Wavle. 鈥淵ou know there is a whole other world out there but you don鈥檛 experience it until you are actually there.鈥
