Walia is an applied health and labor econometrician. Her research interests are in the areas of health care efficiency (including markets for health care workers), maternal-child health, disability research and sports epidemiology. Her research work has appeared in leading field journals, including JAMA Network Open,ÌýPLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases,ÌýBMJ Global Health,ÌýJMIR Human Factors,ÌýJournal of Market Access & Health Policy,ÌýJournal of Organizational Behavior, and Journal of Sports Economics.

His research interests include federal decision-making on space technology, environmental policy, trans-boundary issues, national security, the integration of science with policy, ecosystem management, biotechnology, technology transfer, and leadership issues. Lambright has written scores of articles and has written or edited eight books, including Why Mars: NASA and the Politics of Space Exploration, Powering Apollo: James E. Webb of NASA and Space Policy in the 21st Century.
